Matra 640 Essai Avril Le Mans 1969 Ref P24035

The Matra 640 is created by Robert Choulet, a young and talented engineer (coming from CD) . This beautiful car is realized very quickly (approximately 3 months) thanks to some earlier researches of Choulet. It’s revolutionary by its chassis, suspensions and streamlined body. Unfortunately, this car has a very short life (15 days) : the first contact with the track of Le Mans is finished by a spectacular crash and the car is totally destroy. Its driver, Henri Pescarolo, is harshly wounded.
Today, with private money and some car fanatics, a second car has been built on the originals plans.
