The BX 4 TC Gr B, has been created to against Peugeot, Lancia, Audi, Ford or MG in the rally world championship 1986.

Citroën want to limit the costs. For that, the BX has been chosen like development base. Contrary to its rivals cars, the BX is a berline with a front                                                                 engine. It is a bigger and heavier car. Likewise, Citroën use the maximum parts coming from others cars of Peugeot and Citroën range: the engine (380 Hp) and the transmission of the 505 Peugeot, hydro-pneumatic-suspensions of Citroën CX, the gear box of the Citroën SM....

Further to the bad racing results (4 withdrawals  in 4 races) and the decision of the FIA to stop the Group B,  Citroën don’t go on the BX 4TC project.
